Acala is an online store offering an extensive range of natural, organic and vegan health and beauty products from leading brands. All responsibly packaged; refills, plastic-free and zero-waste packaging.
It was founded by Hanna Pumfrey, a 28-year-old marketing professional with a passion for the environment and making the lives we lead more sustainable, without having to make big lifestyle changes.
Sustainability became important to Hanna after a few years living and working in the city (London). She would watch the rubbish bins in her office fill up every day with paper cups and lunch bag wrappers as they all rushed blindly from meeting to meeting, completely unconscious to the amount of waste they were contributing to landfill daily, and she thought there must be a better way to do this!
Acala is born out of Hanna’s desire to make being a conscious consumer simple and accessible to all.
The name Acala is of Indian - Sanskrit origins and means ‘the immovable one’. And the logo (the two triangles) is a minimalist symbol for balance or equilibrium.
It symbolizes how she views the world and her role in it.
Acala exists to provide an immovable balance between people and the planet. It is with this constant equilibrium between us and nature that we can move towards our sustainable future!
